SCHEDULE
Tuesdays
4:30–6:00p

This class explores classical postures (asanas) and breathing techniques (pranayamas) to strengthen and open your body. Sequences are led in a meditative manner, interspersing movement with holding postures to generate strength and heat which encourage the body to release deep-seated tension. Beginners are welcome in this class.

Wednesdays
6:15–7:15p

These all-level, 60-minute classes are offered as donation classes to support our community. While the classes are worth the $16 drop-in rate, pay for the class as your wallet allows. We request that you pay at least $10 for the class so we can pay the teacher and studio overhead. No sincere student turned away for lack of funds. Beginners are welcome to attend. See schedule.

Chris Mastin

I initially came to yoga for purely physical reasons, then to help me deal with job stress. Over time, I became fascinated by the positive physical, emotional and spiritual changes I experienced from doing yoga consistently. I am now a certified yoga teacher in the Pranakriya style, taught by Yoganand Michael Carroll.

As we continue to practice, yoga’s usefulness as a vehicle of self-awareness and freedom becomes more obvious, as does our understanding of how and why we get in our own way and what options are available to help make our journey more enjoyable. The body is not just a container for the brain; whether one does a quiet or a vigorous practice, yoga is a way of using one’s body to work with energy. We can use this energy to become stronger and more flexible physically, emotionally, intellectually, and spiritually.
