Weekly Classes

Each week, we offer five types of yoga practice:

  • In the morning, before the quickness of the world begins, yoga can bring your day to life. Each class focuses on different yogic techniques to wake up the body, the mind, and the soul. Start your day right.

  • These all-level, 60-minute classes are offered as donation classes to support our community. While the classes are worth the $16 drop-in rate, pay for the class as your wallet allows. We request that you pay at least $10 for the class so we can pay the teacher and studio overhead. No sincere student turned away for lack of funds. Beginners are welcome to attend. See schedule.

  • This class will help you reconnect with your body to cultivate ease, balance and grace. Using a combination of flowing, non-strenuous movements with restorative and yin holdings, you will be guided and nurtured by your instructor through the practice. This class is appropriate for beginners, for those recovering from illness or injuries, pregnant women, and anyone else that wants to experience deep inner connection through a gentler physical practice.

  • This class explores classical postures (asanas) and breathing techniques (pranayamas) to strengthen and open your body. Sequences are led in a meditative manner, interspersing movement with holding postures to generate strength and heat which encourage the body to release deep-seated tension. Beginners are welcome in this class.

  • These classes consist of a variety of basic and advanced postures that strengthen and limber the body, including hand balances, deep back/forward bends, and inversions. This class is NOT INTENDED FOR BEGINNERS to YOGA. We recommend at least 6 months of consistent yoga-class attendance, or a year of intermittent yoga-class attendance.

Many of our classes are open to all levels of practitioners to practice as a community. Beginners are welcome at most classes; keep in mind, though, that some classes, such as Yoga Workout, move faster and require more strength and stamina.

Welcome to Jai Shanti Yoga ~ The Space for Every Body!

Located in the heart of Candler Park, Atlanta GA, Jai Shanti offers yoga, Thai yoga, and other meditative and healing arts.

Drawing from the teachings of Pranakriya, Kripalu, and others, our studio offers weekly classes, workshops and social events. All of our classes and programs intend to teach you skills for improving breath, strength, balance and flexibility—important skills to cultivate both on the mat and in day-to-day living.

If you are a regular or returning student, we are grateful for your continued love and support as Jai Shanti transfers ownership. If you are a new student, we are delighted to meet you and hope you find your yoga hOMe here in our cozy Candler Park studio. We would like to offer a few helpful hints to make your experience at Jai Shanti the best it can be:

  • Our studio does not accept credit or debit cards at this time.
  • Multi-class cards will be offered beginning in January. Any class cards purchased in 2011 are no longer valid.
  • Please remove your shoes before walking on the carpeted areas of the studio.
  • For reasons of hygiene it is recommended that you bring your own yoga mat to class. Rental mats are available for $3 per class. Please spray rental mats with yoga mat cleaner before you put them away.
  • Our class schedule is posted on the left and will remain the same for the next several months. Stay tuned for announcements of additional classes and exciting events!

As a bit of housekeeping, whether you are a new or current student, you will need to fill out a new waiver to reflect the change in ownership. Please keep that in mind the next time you are at the studio and allow a few extra minutes.

Thank you again for choosing to practice yoga with us. We look forward to seeing you soon on the mat!

Namaste,

The Jai Shanti Teachers and Studio Elves
